    Description

Original World War I, 2nd Infantry Division, 23rd Regiment, 2nd Battalion patch. Despite mothing, this is a beautiful patch. The Indian head has no damage from insects. This is the only American Expeditionary Forces Division to have both Army and Marine Corps personnel assigned to it. I have been told that this could also be 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, but I do not think it is, because of the round shape.

On Jul-01-21 at 16:39:25 PDT, seller added the following information:
I have confirmed the unit as 2nd Battalion, 23rd Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division and not 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines. The patch was made in France by screening the design on the leather star and then sewing it on the the patch material.
In response to the question the patch is 90mm across and the star from left point to right point is 75mm.
Thanks for the information on the patch and I will continue to answer questions as I get them.
